This seminar will provide a critical overview of bitcoin and the underlying mechanics and technologies. Session 1 (Basic) will introduce cryptocurrencies and discuss the mechanics of bitcoin, how to store and use bitcoins, decentralization (distributed ledger) and anonymity, bitcoin mining, cryptocurrency investing, and altcoins (Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ripple, etc.). Session 2 (Intermediate) will focus on the blockchain technology and discuss smart contracts, blockchain benefits, using blockchain in practice, cryptocurrencies and blockchain in fintech, regulation, and the future of bitcoin.
